Guidelines for States on the effective implementation of the right to participate in public affairs

Eine englischsprachige Handreichung mit Leitlinien für Staaten zur wirksamen Umsetzung des Rechts auf Beteiligung an öffentlichen Angelegenheiten hat der Hohe Kommissar der Vereinten Nationen für Menschenrechte (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) veröffentlicht.

The guidelines refer to a number of basic principles that should guide the effective implementation of the right to participate in public affairs. Various dimensions of that right are covered, with a focus on participation in electoral processes, in non-electoral contexts and at the international level, and recommendations have been formulated.
